The American woman who stole the diary of the daughter of the US President will serve 1 month in prison and 3 months at home.
Florida woman Aimee Harris sentenced to one month in prison for stealing US President Joe Biden’s daughter’s diary Ashley Biden, Fox News reported. The woman sold the diary to the far-right activist group Project Veritas.
The verdict was handed down in Manhattan federal court. She was also sentenced to three months of home confinement. The woman is raising two children, six and eight years old.
“I am a survivor of long-term domestic violence and sexual trauma,” Harris said at the trial.
The woman pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in August 2022, admitting she received $20,000 of the $40,000 Project Veritas paid for Ashley Biden’s personal belongings.
In court, Harris apologized for allowing the personal records of the daughter of the US President to be made public. Harris took the diary from her home in Delray Beach, Florida. Along with him, she stole a digital memory card, books, clothing, luggage and “everything else she could get her hands on” in hopes that she “could make as much money as possible,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Sobelman said.
